You’re So Vain! 7 DIY Mirrors To Transform Your Space

Source

I like to keep a few mirrors around the house. One by the front door, so in a pinch I can fix any stray hairs or unblended make-up on the way out the door. A spare in the bathroom that I can use to see the back of my head for particularly complicated hair-dos. Mirrors are also great as mere decorating accents to your home. They are pretty, clean, and serve more than one purpose! Here are seven mirror DIYs that will transform your space.

Book Bonanza! 7 Ways to use Books as Decor

This would take a lot of commitment, but it's so gorgeous it just might be worth it. Source: Vanesa Rey

As an avid reader, I love buying books–used and new alike. Their musty smell, the broken binding signifying wear and love,  the promise in opening the first page and beginning a journey. Sadly, in this age of the Kindle, electronic books are rendering the regular ones obsolete. Kindle is great for saving trees, but I love holding a book in my hand and manually turning the pages. As books increasingly become relics of the past, I often feel one of a dying breed when I peruse the stacks at my library or browse Barnes and Noble.

If you’re a book lover or collector like me, then you probably have tons of them lying around. And beyond reading, they are fantastic for decorating. Use bookshelves creatively to build a unique and vibrant space. Have them stacked on your coffee table as a conversation starter. Organize them by color and create an eye-pleasing palette.

Here are seven ways to use books and bookshelves as decor.
